Appearance
Creating a New Working Paper (Desktop)
What it is: A way to add a blank working paper document to a client file, which can then be completed, prepared, and reviewed as part of the audit or financial statement preparation process.
What it's for
Working papers support the Annual Financial Statements by documenting the work done on each area — calculations, reconciliations, evidence of review, and so on. Creating a new working paper lets you add a document to the client file at any time and assign it to the correct folder so it is easy to find later.
How to do it
Creating a working paper (DX137)
- While in the Annual Financial Statements or the Working Papers section, click Create WP on the right-hand task bar.
- Enter a name for the document, use the drop-down to choose which folder to save it in, then click Create Working Paper.
- The new working paper opens. Add a title at the top, then fill in the content. The document can be marked as Prepared and Reviewed when the work is done.
- The working paper is stored in the folder you selected and is accessible from the client file at any time.
